Chris Tai Melodista

Instructor of Russian Martial Art Systema of Tempe Arizona
Chris started practicing martial arts with Judo and Karate when he was 6 years old. As a teen he started researching a more complete martial art, and found Japanese jujitsu. He earned his black belt, but something was missing. He trained in Penchak Silat Setia Hati Terate style, Pancrase, Krav Maga, kickboxing, Thai boxing, MMA. He was looking for something beyond just physical technique and so began looking to the internal style, Tai chi chuan, Bagua Zheng, Qi gong and Yoga. These were great practices, but where was the form that tied all of the great aspects together into one? 10 years ago watching a video of Systema Russian martial art with Vladimir Vasiliev and everything made sense, the fluidity of the internal, the breathing of the qi gong and the efficiency in all the distance unarmed and armed. This was what he had been looking for his whole life. Chris dedicated the last 4 years to travel through Europe, Canada and U.S to meet all the best instructors in Systema. Chris consider the senior instructor Kwan lee as a mentor. In August 2014 Chris received from the hands of Vladimir Vasilev and Valentin Talenov his full instructor certificate in Systema.
